Civil Service

The firm provides the Management Side Commentary for the official Civil Service Reporter published by Landlaw. In that capacity we review and analyze every Civil Service decision, prior to publication, to discern the impact it will have upon Massachusetts civil service employers.

Of course, in addition to reading and writing about Civil Service cases, we also represent municipal employers in a large number of cases each year at the Civil Service Commission. We litigate cases involving the full range of discipline that can be meted out, from suspensions, to demotions to discharge; and we defend bypass cases as well.

We have also had a hand in making significant law in the appellate courts (Appeals Court and Supreme Judicial Court) affecting Civil Service cases and expanding the rights of municipal employers.
